
East Timor: 53 trainers and teachers participate in the first Course on Pedagogy and Didactics of Children’s Literature organized by PROCULTURA PALOP-TL
The course, the first of a series to be held until next May, started today at the Portuguese Center of Dili of the Embassy of Portugal, in Dili, and will be taught by Miguel Gullander, PhD in Linguistics, Languages and Literature and Master of Pedagogy for Development.
The participants come from 13 districts of the country: Bobonaro, Liquiçá, Díli, Baucau, Manatuto, Lautém, Cova-Lima, Ainaro, Manufahi, Viqueque, Ermera, Aileu e Oecussi-Ambeno.
Through the Pedagogy and Didactics of Children’s Literature Course, it is intended to intensively train childhood educators and elementary school teachers in the use of literature as a teaching and learning resource and to stimulate reading at an early age.
This course takes place as part of a collaboration between the delegated cooperation project PROCULTURA and the bilateral cooperation project, Pro Português.
The PROCULTURA PALOP-TL is an action of the Multiannual Indicative Program PALOP – Timor-Leste and the European Union, funded by the European Union, co-financed and managed by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. It aims to contribute to the creation of employment in income generating activities in the cultural and creative economy in the PALOP-TL.
