PALOP-TL competition for performers’ mobility: PROCULTURA received 78 applications in the areas of music and performing arts
PROCULTURA received 78 applications in the scope of the performers’ international mobility contest from PALOP-TL. The applications were submitted between October 1st and November 30th, 2021 and the results will be published in January 2022.
The goal is to support the attendance of artistic residencies in Europe, Brazil, Australia or PALOP-TL neighboring countries, promoting the development of the dialogue and encourage recognition and the international circulation.
During 2020, PROCULTURA supported 25 artists from Angola, Cape-Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Sao Tome e Principe and East Timor (three in performing arts, ten in dance and twelve in music). During 2019, PROCULTURA supported 12 artists from Angola, Cape Verde and Mozambique (three in performing arts, five in music and four in dance).
PROCULTURA is an Action of PALOP-TL Multiannual Indicative Program, financed by the EU, co-financed and managed by Camões, I.P. and also co-financed the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. It aims to contribute to job creation in income-generating activities in cultural and creative economy in PALOP-TL countries.
In March 1992, in Sao Tome e Principe City, the Head of State and Governments of PALOP expressed their firm political will to establish a multiform cooperation between them and with the European Union, to which East Timor joined in 2007, making the group to be named after PALOP-TL.
